Celebrities boost sales of hair extensions

Celebrities such as Cheryl Cole, Beyonce and J-Lo have pushed up sales of human hair extensions by more than 160% in the UK, according to a recent report.  Britain is now the third largest buyer of hair extensions, just behind the US and China. When it comes to colours, blonde is leading the pack, with half of all girls opting for shades of platinum and honey.  It is of course the easiest shade to add dye to, to match your own natural colour. Only seven per cent of women went for brown hair extensions, according to the findings from the Alibaba.com survey. Interestingly, curly or wavy hair extensions are growing in popularity.  We’ve seen many celebs such as SJP, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez stepping out with more voluminous styles and now it would seem that 8 out of 10 girls buying hair extensions are shunning poker straight in favour of waves.
