Why hair extensions start to swell?

Why Do Human Hair Extensions Start To Swell?

Its very important to keep your hair extensions well looked after and especially when you have spent alot of money on them. If you use human hair extensions its extremely important you use the correct aftercare products to take care of them, as they can swell up and become unmanageable.

Negative impacts of swelling, is caused by chemicals such as colouring, dying, bleaching or the use of/contact of any other chemicals such as chlorine from swimming pools. Also overuse of styling products can also have this effect on the hair.

If no chemicals have been used, the most likely cause of swelling is caused by washing with too much water, basically it is allowed to enter the hair follicle and its not released, hence it causes the hair to swell. Thankfully this issue is not completely permanent and can be reversed.

How To Prevent Swelling?

To prevent swelling from happening we suggest using oils based products such as a Heat Thermal Protective Serum or Moroccan Argan Oil as these essential products will help act as a barrier and protect the hair from water entering into the hair follicle. Using one of these products on a regular basis will also maintain the longevity, shine and moisturise your hair extensions to prolong the life of your hair extensions.
