Micro-Loop Hair Extensions Buying Guide
Micro-Loop hair extensions are an individual strand extension
method supplied with a pre-attached loop and micro
ring. During fitting, a small section of the natural
hair is passed through the loop, guided into the attached ring
and secured by a professional stylist using extension pliers.
No fusion heat or adhesive is required during application.
Our Micro-Loop range is made using 100% human Remy-graded hair and is available
across selected lengths, strand weights and shades.
25 Strands Supplied per pack
14"–22" Multiple lengths available
0.5g & 1.0g Across selected ranges
Pre-Attached Ring No fusion heat or glue
What Are Micro-Loop Hair Extensions?
Micro-Loop extensions are individual strands with a small
loop and micro ring already attached to the top of each
extension. This differs from Stick-Tip extensions, where the
fitter normally selects and adds a separate ring during
application.
Because Micro-Loops are applied strand by strand, a
professional stylist can control the placement and
distribution of the extensions to suit the natural hair and
desired finished result.
How Does the Pre-Attached Loop Work?
A small section of natural hair is placed through the
pre-attached loop. The loop is then pulled so the natural
hair passes through the micro ring attached to the extension
strand.
Once correctly positioned, the ring is secured using
professional hair extension pliers. The loop section used
during application is then removed as part of the fitting
process.
0.5g vs 1.0g Micro-Loop Strands
Our Micro-Loop range includes 0.5g and 1.0g strands across selected
lengths and shades.
A 0.5g strand contains less hair per individual attachment,
while a 1.0g strand provides more hair per strand. The
preferred strand weight should be selected according to the
natural hair, desired volume and the professional fitter's
application plan.
Choosing Your Micro-Loop Length
Micro-Loop extensions are available in 14", 18", 20" and 22" lengths across
selected ranges.
Shorter lengths can be useful for adding thickness, volume
or subtle additional length, while longer extensions can
create a more noticeable transformation. The starting
length of the natural hair and the amount of blending
required should also be considered.
Choosing the Right Colour
Choosing a close colour match helps Micro-Loop extensions
blend naturally with the client's own hair. Compare the
available shades using our Hair Extension Colour Chart
before ordering.
If you're unsure which shade to choose, use our Colour Match Guarantee
for additional help before placing your order.
Recommended Quantity
The amount of hair required will depend on the client's
natural hair thickness, starting length and desired finished
result. As a general guide, we recommend:
0.5g Micro-Loop Strands:
Half head — approximately 4 packs (100 strands)
Full head — approximately 8 packs (200 strands)
1.0g Micro-Loop Strands:
Half head — approximately 3 packs (75 strands)
Full head — approximately 6 packs (150 strands)
Each pack contains 25 individual strands.
These quantities are recommendations only. The exact amount
required can vary depending on the natural hair and desired
volume and length, so we recommend confirming the quantity
with the professional stylist carrying out the fitting.
Professional Fitting
Although the loop and ring are already attached to each
strand, correct sectioning, positioning and ring tension are
still important. We recommend that Micro-Loop extensions are
fitted by a trained professional.
Appropriate Micro & Nano Ring Tools
such as professional extension pliers may be required during
fitting and maintenance.
Professional Removal
Micro-Loop extensions should be professionally removed. The
attached ring is carefully opened using suitable extension
pliers so the extension and natural hair can be released
without pulling or forcing the attachment.

Micro-Loop Aftercare
Suitable aftercare helps maintain the appearance of the hair
while also reducing unnecessary stress around the attachment
areas. Brush gently from the ends upwards while supporting the
roots, taking particular care around the micro rings.
Wash fitted extensions upright using suitable extension
aftercare products. Keep oils, conditioners and heavy creams
away from the rings and attachment areas, and ensure the hair,
roots and rings are completely dry before sleeping.
Avoid concentrated heat directly on the attachment areas. We
also do not recommend colouring, bleaching or toning our hair
extensions, or using silver, purple, blue or other
colour-depositing shampoos.
With suitable care, our human hair extensions typically have a
usable lifespan of around 2–3 months,
although this can vary according to fitting, maintenance,
styling, aftercare and individual use. Read our complete Hair Extension Aftercare Guide
