Clip-In Hair Extensions Buying Guide
Clip-In hair extensions are a removable hair extension method designed for
convenient at-home application. Each set contains multiple
wefts with clips already attached, allowing the extensions to
be fitted when required and removed again at the end of the
day.
Our 7-piece Clip-In sets are made from 100% human Remy-graded hair and are available
in 14", 18", 20" and 22" lengths, with set weights ranging
from approximately 80g to 115g across the collection.

What Are Clip-In Hair Extensions?
Clip-Ins are temporary hair extensions made from individual
wefts with small clips attached along the top. The clips
open and close so each weft can be secured into sections of
the natural hair without using heat, adhesive, rings or
permanent attachments.
Because they can be applied and removed when required,
Clip-Ins are a popular option for adding temporary length,
volume and thickness for everyday wear, evenings out and
special occasions.
What's Included in a 7-Piece Set?
Each HairXtensions Clip-In set contains 7 separate weft pieces designed to be
distributed around the head.
The different weft widths allow the pieces to be positioned
across the back and sides of the head, helping create
balanced coverage and a blended finish.
Choosing Your Clip-In Length
Our Clip-In sets are available in 14", 18", 20" and 22" lengths.
Your choice should take into account your natural starting
length and the finished look you want to achieve. Shorter
sets can add thickness and subtle additional length, while
longer sets can create a more noticeable transformation.
For a natural result, enough of the natural hair should be
available to blend over and around the Clip-In wefts.
Choosing the Right Set Weight
Our Clip-In sets range from approximately 80g to 115g depending on the selected
length.
Set weight refers to the total amount of hair supplied
across all seven pieces. A heavier set contains more hair
overall and can provide greater fullness, while a lighter
set may be more suitable where a subtler result is desired.
Natural hair thickness, length and the desired finished
result should all be considered when selecting a set.
Choosing the Right Colour
A close colour match helps Clip-In extensions blend more
naturally with your own hair. Compare our shades using the Hair Extension Colour Chart
before ordering.
If you're unsure which shade is the closest match, use our Colour Match Guarantee
for additional help before removing any hygiene ribbon or
using the extensions.
How to Apply Clip-In Extensions
Begin with clean, dry and detangled hair. Section the natural
hair horizontally, starting lower at the back of the head,
and secure the first suitable Clip-In weft close to the root
without placing unnecessary tension on the hair.
Continue working upwards with the remaining pieces, leaving
enough natural hair around the top and sides to conceal the
clips. The smaller pieces can then be positioned where
additional side volume or blending is required.
Blending Your Clip-Ins
Correct placement is important for a natural-looking result.
The wefts should be distributed evenly and positioned where
the clips can remain covered by the natural hair.
Once fitted, gently brush the natural hair and extensions
together. Human hair Clip-Ins can also be styled to help
blend the two together, but always use suitable heat
protection and avoid excessive temperatures.
Removing & Storing Clip-Ins
Clip-In extensions should be removed before sleeping. Open each clip
carefully and release the wefts one at a time rather than
pulling them from the natural hair.
After removal, gently brush the extensions from the ends
upwards and store them clean, dry and detangled. Keeping the
pieces neatly stored can help reduce unnecessary tangling
between wears.
Clip-In Hair Extension Aftercare
Clip-In extensions generally do not need to be washed after
every wear. Wash them only when required using suitable hair
extension aftercare products and lukewarm water. Always handle
the wefts carefully and avoid rubbing or twisting the hair
together.
Brush gently from the ends upwards while supporting the top of
each weft. Make sure the extensions are completely dry before
storing them, and never sleep while wearing your Clip-In set.
Human hair extensions can be heat styled, but we recommend
using a suitable thermal protection product and avoiding
excessive or repeated heat. We do not recommend colouring,
bleaching or toning our hair extensions, or using silver,
purple, blue or other colour-depositing shampoos.
With suitable care, HairXtensions human hair extensions
typically have a usable lifespan of around 2–3 months, although individual use,
frequency of wear, washing, heat styling and aftercare can all
affect this. Read our complete Hair Extension Aftercare Guide.
