HairX Pro wooden paddle brush with soft nylon bristles for hair extensions

Hair Extension Paddle Brush

Hair extensions require regular brushing to help separate the strands and manage everyday knots before they develop further.

The soft nylon bristles on this HairX Pro brush are designed to move through the extension lengths while allowing greater control when brushing close to attachment areas such as compatible keratin bonds, Micro Rings and Nano Rings.

Always brush carefully around attachment points rather than repeatedly dragging or pulling the brush directly against them.

How to Brush Hair Extensions

Begin brushing at the ends of the hair, gently working through any knots before gradually moving upwards towards the mid-lengths.

Once the lower sections are manageable, continue upwards in stages towards the root area. Supporting the extension hair with your free hand while brushing can help reduce unnecessary tension around the attachment points.

Brushing Tip: Avoid beginning at the roots and pulling the brush through the entire length in one movement. Working from the ends upwards in sections gives you greater control over knots and reduces unnecessary pulling on the extension attachments.

Brushing Around Bonds & Rings

Extra care should be taken when brushing close to semi-permanent extension attachments. Use controlled movements and avoid catching the brush directly underneath or repeatedly against the bonds or rings.

Regular gentle brushing can help keep the extension strands separated and make everyday maintenance more manageable between professional maintenance appointments.

Night-Time Hair Extension Care

Before going to bed, gently brush through the extension lengths and make sure the hair is free from significant knots.

Hair extensions can then be loosely secured in a braid or similar loose style for sleeping. Avoid tying the hair excessively tightly or creating unnecessary tension around the attachment areas.

Large Wooden Paddle Design

Measuring approximately 23cm long x 6.5cm wide, the larger paddle design provides a practical brushing area for working through longer hair-extension lengths.

The brush can be used as part of a regular extension-care routine alongside appropriate washing, conditioning, drying and professional maintenance.

Recommended Use: Regular Hair Maintenance at Home or in the Salon
Important: Support the Hair Near Fitted Attachment Areas and Never Force the Brush Through Tangles

1. Before brushing, check the hair for visible knots, tangles and any areas where extensions may have become caught around the attachments.

2. Divide longer or thicker hair into manageable sections to make brushing easier and reduce unnecessary pulling.

3. Hold the extension hair securely with your free hand, particularly when brushing fitted extensions.

4. Begin at the very ends of the hair, using gentle, controlled brush strokes to separate the strands.

5. Gradually move upwards through the lower lengths as each section becomes easier to brush.

6. Work towards the mid-lengths in stages, carefully releasing everyday knots rather than forcing the brush through them.

7. When approaching the root area, support the hair close to the attachment points to help minimise unnecessary tension.

8. Carefully guide the soft nylon bristles through suitable sections of hair, avoiding direct pulling against fitted keratin bonds, rings, Tape-In panels or Weft tracks.

9. If the brush catches on an attachment or resistant knot, stop and carefully release the hair before continuing.

10. Repeat the process across the remaining sections until the extension lengths are comfortably separated and manageable.

11. For removable extensions, such as Clip-Ins, support the weft or attachment area securely while gently brushing from the ends upwards.

12. Before bedtime, gently brush through the extension lengths to help remove everyday tangles. Secure the hair loosely if recommended for the extension method.

13. After brushing, remove loose hair trapped between the bristles to keep the brush clean and ready for its next use.

Important: Avoid brushing aggressively from the roots to the ends in one movement. Follow any specific aftercare instructions supplied by your hair-extension stylist.

• This is a hair-extension maintenance brush, not an application or fitting tool. Use it to help keep extension lengths manageable between professional appointments.

• The broad wooden paddle is practical for brushing larger sections of longer hair without needing numerous short passes.

• Soft nylon bristles provide controlled everyday brushing when used with the correct technique.

• Always start at the ends and gradually work upwards through the mid-lengths.

• Support the hair with your free hand when brushing near fitted attachment areas to reduce unnecessary pulling.

• For Nail-Tip / U-Tip extensions, avoid repeatedly dragging the bristles across or underneath the keratin attachments.

• For Nano-Tip and Micro Ring extensions, prevent the bristles from catching against fitted rings.

• For Tape-In extensions, brush gently around the panels and avoid pulling directly against the taped attachment areas.

• For Wefts and Weaves, work through the free lengths and avoid repeatedly dragging the brush across the fitted row or track.

• For removable Clip-In extensions, hold the weft securely while detangling the hair.

• Separate particularly long or thick extensions into smaller sections before brushing.

• Never force the brush through a stubborn knot. Work from the lower end of the tangle using short, gentle movements.

• Use a suitable wide-tooth comb or detangling brush where more controlled knot removal is needed.

• Keep extension hair gently brushed and separated as part of the daily aftercare routine.

• Before sleeping, carefully remove tangles and loosely secure the extensions according to the recommended aftercare routine.

• Clean the brush regularly to prevent shed hair and styling-product residue accumulating between the bristles.

• Replace the brush if the bristles become bent, damaged or rough enough to catch the hair.

• If heavy matting develops close to fitted attachments, seek professional extension-maintenance advice rather than pulling it apart.

• Use gentle, controlled brushing movements. Never pull or force the brush through resistant tangles.

• Begin brushing at the ends and work upwards in manageable sections.

• Support the hair close to fitted extension attachments to reduce unnecessary tension on natural hair.

• Avoid catching the bristles directly underneath keratin bonds, rings, Tape-In panels, clips or Weft tracks.

• Do not repeatedly scrape or drag the brush across fitted extension attachments.

• Stop brushing if an attachment catches, pulls or feels uncomfortable. Carefully release the hair before continuing.

• Do not use the brush to forcibly separate heavy matting or knots around the natural roots. Consult a qualified extension stylist where necessary.

• Handle damp or wet extension hair particularly carefully and follow the brushing instructions appropriate to the extension method.

• Remove trapped hair from the bristles regularly to prevent debris and product build-up.

• Clean the brush gently using a method suitable for wooden brush bodies and nylon bristles.

• Avoid soaking or immersing the wooden brush in water, which may damage its finish or construction.

• Do not use harsh solvents, bleach or abrasive cleaning products unless confirmed suitable by the manufacturer.

• After cleaning, remove excess moisture and allow the brush to dry fully in a well-ventilated area before storing.

• Do not leave the brush resting against hot styling tools or expose the nylon bristles to direct high heat.

• Store the brush in a clean, dry place, ideally protected from damage to the bristles.

• Inspect the bristles periodically and replace the brush if damaged, sharp or loose parts could snag the hair.

• For salon use, clean and maintain the brush according to appropriate professional hygiene procedures between clients.

• Keep the brush away from small children where unsupervised use could cause hair tangling or accidental injury.

• Use alongside the correct extension washing, conditioning, drying and maintenance routine. Brushing alone does not replace professional maintenance appointments.
